What is your return policy?
All sales are FINAL! We do not allow for any refunds, exchanges, or returns on any & all merchandise. Please note our return sales policy is consistent with the formal wear industry standards.
Do you have a physical brick and mortar building?
Our stores are located in Columbus, Georgia and Eufaula, Alabama where we have been in business for almost 20 years. Our Georgia location has over 6,000 sq feet dedicated to prom, pageant and social occasion dresses. Our knowledgeable staff is able to help you select the perfect dress and here to provide you with a personal shopping experience. We’re able to complete your purchase with the perfect shoes and accessories. We also carry Jim’s Formal Wear Tuxedos for rental! Sorry, we do not carry Bridal gowns or Bridal Party dresses.
Do you register gowns?
Yes, our point of sale (POS) system automatically registers your dress and it’s always our goal to make sure we do not sell the same style dress in the same color to the same school. Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee that your dress will not be purchased from another store or online. We carry many designers so we’re sure that you will find the perfect dress and decrease the chance of a duplicate at your prom. Please know we cannot register a dress for your school that is purchased from our online store and each dress can only be registered for one school.
Do I need an appointment?
Appointments are not required, but strongly suggested if you are shopping for the perfect pageant dress so we can make sure the right team members are in place for your arrival. Alternatively, appointments are always required to meet with our alterations team.
What forms of payment do you accept?

In Store – Cash, Check (with a valid Driver’s License), Debit Cards, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, & American Express

Do you have Special Financing?
Yes! We offer layaway all year around, however only gowns that are in stock, in store are eligible for layaway. We require a 25% deposit for all layaways on day of purchase, payments must be made every 2 weeks, and all layaways must be paid in full within 60 days of the initial deposit. Note – if you cancel a layaway, your deposit is forfeited. At no time will any money be refunded to you and deposits will not be transferred to any other gown purchases. Also, please note that we offer a Military Discount IN STORE ONLY with a valid Military ID.
What if I order the wrong size – can I exchange or return it?
Our staff will work with you and consult the official size charts for the specific designer you are interested in to find the correct size we recommend. Ultimately, the decision on the size you want to order is completely up to you and your preference. Once a size has been chosen, the gown is yours and all sales will be final. If you are between sizes, we always recommend going up in size because you can always take a dress in, but a dress can almost never be let out. We have an alterations team that can help with this!
Can I purchase a dress or make a payment over the phone?
Of course! You are always welcome to call our store at 706-596-2003 to complete your transaction.
Do you allow photos?
We do! We allow photos of gowns on our showroom floor, however you may NOT take pictures of any Couture Gowns.
Do you charge sales tax?
Yes, we do. We are required by law to charge local sales tax on any and all orders placed online & shipped within states that we operate (i.e. Alabama & Georgia). Orders not shipped within these states are not subject to a sales tax charge. All products purchased in store are subject to local sales tax, no exceptions.
When is the best time to start shopping for a prom dress?
It’s NEVER too early to start shopping for prom! By January we already have hundreds of gowns in stock and we continue to receive shipments weekly from different designers containing various styles, colors, and sizes of dresses. We always recommend shopping early to get your favorite dress before it is registered to your school. The earlier you get your gown, the larger selection you will have to choose from.
Do you hold gowns?
We do not hold gowns without a deposit. Note that all deposits are nonrefundable.
Do you rent gowns or buy back dresses?
We do NOT rent gowns, we also do NOT buy or consign gowns, new or used. All gowns in our store and online are for sale only. Please know, we do NOT sell used gowns.
What sizes do you carry?
We carry sizes 0 – 24 in store, however our designers have gowns that range in size from 00 – 30 that can be special ordered. Please call our store or see our sales associates for more details.
How do I know my size?
If you are looking to special order a gown from Lasting Impressions, our team is happy to measure you to get the most accurate fit. Formal gowns are generally cut smaller than your average dress, and these gowns are not guaranteed a seam allowance to be released. We HIGHLY recommend that you have your BUST, WAIST, and HIP measurements taken by a professional before ordering any kind of formal attire.
To determine your size, follow the manufacturer's size chart, listed with each style.
- Measure the bust over the fullest part, under your arms and across your back.
- Measure the waistline in the smallest part.
- Measure the hips at the fullest part of the buttocks.
- Have someone else measure you if possible!
If I order my correct size, will I still need alterations?
Most likely, yes! All gowns, designers, fits, and styles var. In most situations dresses must be hemmed, have straps adjusted, and pads or cups added for your specific body type. Other alterations may be required depending on the needed fit of the gown. This is normal! You should plan to budget for these costs. Alteration prices vary depending on the work that must be done to the gown.
Do you ship?
Yes! We ship to all 50 states. Sorry, we do not ship outside the USA. Ground shipping travel time is between 2-6 business days and provided free of charge on all online orders $300 or more. Expedited shipping is available for an additional charge. All tracking information is provided once available. Free shipping is not available for any Opening Number Dress orders.
How long will it take to get my special order?
When you place your special order, our sales associates will give you an estimated date of arrival. Special orders generally take 7-10 business days to arrive in store from the designer.
What designers do you carry?
At this time, we carry the following designers IN STORE - Sherri Hill, Sherri Hill Couture, MacDuggal, Rachel Allan, Alyce Paris, House of Wu, Ellie Wilde, and more. Sorry, not all designers are available on our online store.
Do you offer alterations?
Yes, we do! Please note that our seamstresses work off site and appointments are REQUIRED to meet with any seamstress on our team. All seamstresses are 3rd party contractors that work exclusively with customers who purchase their gowns from Lasting Impressions. Sorry, they do not take outside alterations, no exceptions. Please call us at 706-596-2003 or request your appointment online for alterations.
How much are alterations?
Our seamstresses are subcontractors through Lasting Impressions and set their own prices. Pricing is determined by the amount of work that you request, fabrication and construction of the garment being adjusted. All alterations are at the expense and responsibility of the customer and are NOT included in the price of the gown! All payment should be made directly to your individual seamstress in the form of cash or check ONLY – no cards (credit or debit) will be accepted in store for alterations. Alterations are provided at an additional cost and it is not required that you use our alterations team.
Do you have all the gowns photographed on your website in stock?
No, unfortunately while we carry hundreds of gowns in store in a variety of colors, styles, and sizes, we cannot carry everything. We have the entire collection shown from each designer pictured on our website. All items shown can be special ordered, provided that they are still available in stock from the designer. Please contact the store to check availability. Please know that all gowns in stock, in store are on the sales floor. We do not store any gowns off site.
